Managing Partner, SB Value Partners, L.P.
Chairman and Founder of IPI (Investment Professionals, Inc.), Mr. Barnes began the firm in 1992 with his own book of business, one secretary and a part time college student. Headquartered in San Antonio, Investment Professionals, Inc., is one of the leading investment firms in the nation and works almost entirely with independent community banks. IPI currently manages programs in 132 financial institutions in 25 states, with assets under management (AUM) exceeding $6 Billion.
Founder and Managing Partner of SB Value Partners, L.P., a Limited Partnership Program for Bank Trust Departments, Financial Institutions and High Net Worth Individuals. Assets under management (AUM) exceed $110 Million.
Born December 13, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Barnes graduated Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1984. Before starting IPI, he was an Investment Consultant with E.F. Hutton, Smith Barney & Prudential Securities (1984-1992). Scott was named Ernst and Young South Texas Entrepreneur of the Year in 1998 and one of the “40 under 40 Rising Stars” in San Antonio by the San Antonio Business Journal in 2000.
President & Chief Executive Officer
Jay McAnelly has 18 years’ experience in business management. He is responsible for the day-to-day management and direction of IPI’s national robust bank/brokerage business. His background included roles as an advisor in a financial institution, as an IPI business development officer, and IPI’s National Sales Manager. He developed very broad perspectives to help build and fine tune successful advisor practices and while delivering prosperity to his banking partners. Jay has been quoted in numerous publications nationally, and is a leading authority on revolutionary ideas to improve and benefit the overall client experience within the bank brokerage industry.
Senior Vice President – Capital Markets
John Sacchetti, oversees IPI’s institutional trading in conjunction with our steady growth nationwide and commitment to best-in-class services for our Trust partners and their customers. Prior to joining IPI, Mr. Sacchetti was a principal at Advisors Asset Management where as head of the National Accounts fixed income desk he grew the business by 75 percent from 2006 to 2008. He also worked as a financial advisor at Wachovia Securities and Merrill Lynch where he managed multi-million dollar client portfolios. Mr. Sacchett holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Manhattan College. He is Board Certified to teach mathematics in the Alamo Community College District.

Debbee joined IPI in 1997, she is a shareholder of IPI and SB Value L.P. Debbee has over 30 years of experience in accounting and finance; her background included roles as Comptroller, SVP Internal affairs and Director of Accounting and Human Resources. Debbee’s broad business background, combined with extensive experience and unique perspective allow her to work closely with the Board of Directors, Chairman, President/CEO and management team on special projects, risk measurement and corporate matters.
Senior Vice President – Operations
Suzanne oversees a staff responsible for the processing of multiple business lines including all Pershing brokerage, variable and fixed annuities, direct mutual funds, REITs and financial plans. With many years in the brokerage business focused on Operations, Suzanne’s knowledge and expertise has been the cornerstone in the development of the Operations Team. This team is responsible for all new accounts, conversions, order processing, securities and funds management, general account maintenance and service issues a well as systems training for Financial Advisors. Suzanne and her department support 200+ Financial Advisors across 26 states.
Chief Compliance Officer
Brian brings a balanced approach to implementing and reviewing compliance policies and procedures and effectively communicating such compliance policies for IPI financial advisors in over 145 financial institutions across the U.S. Prior to IPI, Brian was an IPI Platinum Club producer and Regional Director in charge of business development for over 75 financial advisors and 50 financial institutions. Before joining IPI Brian managed a successful independent practice he built from the ground up. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 65, and 24 licenses and a B.S. from Texas State University.

Chief Financial Officer, SB Value Partners, L.P.
Christine joined IPI in 2008, brining with her over 20 years of accounting experience. She earned her BS in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from Illinois State University. She has held such positions such as Sr. Financial Analyst, Cost Accounting Manager and Controller. Christine manages the Accounting and Finance department and is responsible for all aspects of financial management, such as transaction processing, financial reporting and budgeting and analysis. As FINOP, she is also responsible for regulatory reporting.

Joining IPI in June 2005, Amy and her team are responsible for helping financial advisors and bank partners strategically market their practice in their community and surrounding areas. From turn-key campaigns to custom integrations, the marketing team’s goal is to keep the advisor in front of clients and prospects through direct mail, PR, advertising campaigns and event support. Before joining the marketing team, Amy held the position of StartRight Coordinator, where she trained IPI advisors and helped to oversee the conversion process for new bank partners. Amy holds a BBA in Marketing from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Vice President, Director of Information Technology
Lee comes to IPI with over 10 years of industry experience in IT and project management. Born in Yorkshire, England, raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Lee returned to the UK where he served for 10 years in the British Army before retiring and emigrating to Texas. He holds several Microsoft Certifications (MCSE/MCSA amongst them) and has experience on both the Independent Consultant and Corporate side of the company’s IT infrastructure and long term strategies. Most recently, Lee was the Manager of Systems Engineering at Airstrip Technologies for over 4 years where he was the primary technical and IT team infrastructure lead. Lee’s key role is managing and leading the IT strategy and vision for IPI.
John J. Valkenaar, III
Vice President, Director of National Recruiting
John Valkenaar joined IPI in 2008 as a Financial Advisor and has served as Vice President, Director of National Recruiting since October 2015. John and his team are responsible for global recruiting efforts for IPI’s financial institution partners which span the United States. Prior to joining IPI’s Executive team, John served as Vice President of Business Development for the firm’s National Recruiting Team where he outperformed historical past performance by recruiting the most financial advisors in a single year in 2013. John also has a reputation for successfully executing challenging bank conversions, furthering IPI’s growth during volatile economic periods. He is a FINRA Registered Principal (Series 24) and holds a Series 7 and 66 as well. John has BBA in Economics from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
