Business Succession and Exit Planning

According to the Small Business Administration, about 90% of U.S. businesses are family-owned or controlled. But only about 30% of family-run companies survive into the second generation and only 10% make it to third-generation status.

IPI helps small business clients prepare for leaving their businesses under the most favorable financial conditions. We look at key issues such as whether the business will be capable of distributing enough income to principals post departure and developing a strategy to maximize value in the short and long terms. Where appropriate, we will coordinate the development of a business succession and exit plan with your banker, attorney and accountant.
